Seasonal Candy Associate 


Season: May – October (with potential for continued employment)

Gateway Candyland is looking for dependable, motivated, and team-oriented Seasonal Candy Associates to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and take pride in quality, cleanliness, and teamwork.

Job Requirements
  • Dependable, responsible, and consistent

  • Motivated with a strong work ethic

  • Able to take direction and feedback well from any supervisor

  • Weekend availability required

  • Minimum commitment of 2 days per week

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Comfortable with physical work including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting for extended periods

Position Overview

The Seasonal Candy Associate provides excellent customer service while supporting multiple areas of the store. Associates are cross-trained and may work in Front End, Ice Cream, or Candy Production depending on business needs.

Job Duties

Customer Service & Front End

  • Provide friendly, attentive service and make product recommendations

  • Operate register and handle cash/credit transactions accurately

  • Scan goods, collect payments, and issue receipts/change

  • Cross-sell products and introduce new items

  • Resolve customer concerns professionally

  • Maintain clean and organized checkout areas

  • Bag, box, or wrap purchases

Ice Cream Station

  • Greet customers and offer samples

  • Scoop ice cream and prepare toppings quickly and neatly

  • Maintain attractive product presentation

  • Restock ice cream, cones, bowls, toppings, napkins, and spoons

  • Assist at register when needed

  • Clean and sanitize equipment and surfaces between customers

  • Work efficiently during high-volume periods

Candy & Sales Floor

  • Pack bulk candy and prepare products for sale

  • Assist with candy making and packaging when trained

  • Stock shelves, bins, and backroom inventory

  • Unload deliveries and organize product

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines

Minimum Scheduling Requirements
  • Work 2–3 shifts per week

  • Must be available most Friday–Sunday evenings

  • Strong performers may be invited to continue into the winter season

    • ​Note: Hours may be limited November – April

Desired Qualifications
  • Strong people skills and positive customer interactions

  • Point-of-sale (POS) experience preferred

  • Cash handling experience preferred

  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
